Homeless man dies from injuries after skateboard attack

A homeless man beaten by a skateboard was taken off life support and has died.

Arthur Angulo, a San Diego homeless man, has died as a result of injuries he received from being beaten by a skateboard on Saturday.

The incident happened at around 4:30 am in a North Park alley near the 2800 block of El Cajon Boulevard. Angulo was asleep when an assailant with no apparent motive beat the 55-year-old with a skateboard.

San Diego police homicide Lt. Todd Griffin said the victim received, “visible signs of major trauma to his upper body.”

Angulo was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital where according to FOX 5, medical professionals determined he would not survive and was put on life support.

He was taken off life support on Thursday.

“The attack was unprovoked,” officer Tony Martinez said over the weekend.

The assailant has yet to be apprehended and is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt and gray shorts. He may also have shoulder length hair and was last seen fleeing the scene in a white sedan, possibly a Honda.
