President Trump and First Lady Melania visited the hospital where two officers are recovering from injuries they received after they were shot while protecting political and business officials practicing for a charity baseball game on Wednesday.

Special Agents Crystal Griner and David Bailey were two of the law enforcement personnel who quickly sprang into action after James T. Hodgkinson opened fire at the event, severely injuring House Majority Whip Steven Scalise (R).

Griner, known for her tenacity and basketball skills was shot in the ankle while protecting the players and assisting in neutralizing the assailant.

Griner is not on social media, but one of her friends applauded her efforts and says that her quick thinking and move to action is no surprise.

They say that she was always like in school, especially in basketball.

“She was a woman to be reckoned with at Hood: an amazing athlete and a lively presence,” a former classmate wrote on Facebook. “It does not surprise me at all that she would think so quickly and act so courageously. You’re not on Facebook, Crystal, but I’m honored to know you. Wishing you a speedy recovery and the knowledge that you have the gratitude of the nation behind you!”

President Trump and Melania had a short meeting with Griner and Bailey, presenting each of their wives a bouquet of white flowers.
