According to Pink News eight men have been arrested for allegedly having a “gay party” in Surabaya, Indonesia.

If convicted, the two organizers could face up to 15 years behind bars.

The other six men have are facing charges of pornography according to Agence France-Passe (AFP).

Chief investigator Shinto Silitonga reports that there were 14 men who utilized two hotel rooms who were watching gay pornography and partaking in, “deviant sex acts.”

“This is the first time we enforce the law and arrest gay people in the city,” Silitonga told AFP.

According to Pink News, Silitonga posted on his Facebook page that several cars and motorcycles were impounded from attendees of what he called a “PARTY GAY.”

The investigator says the men were stroking each other’s chests, but details of the charges they face cannot be determined at this time.

Except for Aceh province, homosexuality is not illegal in Indonesia, but some have questioned government official’s position about the community after ministers made public anti-gay statements last year.
