The fire was reported just after 5 am Tuesday morning.
An early morning blaze engulfed one Mission Hills home on Tuesday, leaving one person dead and another unaccounted for.
Shortly after 5 am, a home on the 1700 block of upscale neighborhood of Mission Hills was completely engulfed by flames, reports San Diego Fire Rescue Department.
Fire and emergency crews arrived to find the home burning and the roof collapsing in on itself.
ABC 10 reports that a preliminary investigation suggests the fire was active throughout the night.
A brigade of 35 firefighters controlled the blaze in just under an hour.
Crews had to battle the flames from the outside due to unsafe conditions and a semi-hoarding environment inside.
One body was confirmed dead by officials just before 7 am and another resident who was reportedly at home has not been found at this time.
