The 17-year-old died as a result of his mother's attacks.
A Brazilian mother has admitted to stabbing her teenage son, killing him because he was gay.
It happened last month on Christmas Eve, after the mother, Tatiana Lozano Pereira was returning home with her son Itaberli Lozano, 17.
The two were having a heated argument and upon entering the house two men, hired by Pereira began to beat him.
Originally the mother, non-accepting of her son’s sexuality, wanted only for the men to “teach him a lesson,” but then ordered the men to kill him according to NewNowNext.
But the hired assailants refused her orders and Pereira herself stabbed him with a knife she took from the kitchen.
Lorenzo died as a result of his injuries, the mother told police. And she admits to taking her son's body, with the help of her husband, the boy’s stepfather, to a field and setting it on fire.
The teenager’s burned remains were found on January 7.
Pereira told police that she was the one who killed her son, and also named the hired men lying in wait at the home.
Her husband was also charged with helping dispose of the body.
Lozano's uncle, Dario Rosa, told authorities that Pereira had never been happy about her son's sexuality.
Other family members have come forward to corroborate Rosa's statement.
