The organic full-scale grocery is scheduled to start construction in the coming weeks.
It’s official, the site that once housed Albertson’s and the recently defunct Haggen grocery store on Washington St., has been purchased by Lazy Acres Natural Market, a full-scale store which caters to the discerning health-conscious consumer.
In a news release, the company says that Hillcrest has long been on their radar as a possible site for one of their outlets.
This location at 422 W Washington, on the border of Mission Hills just across from Vons, will be the fourth store in the Lazy Acres franchise, the first being in Santa Barbara, and the second and third in Long Beach and Encinitas.
“After much anticipation, Lazy Acres will bring our organic, fresh and delicious—and when possible, locally sourced -- offerings to the Hillcrest and Mission Hills communities starting this summer,” said Scott Hartman, the company’s marketing vice president. “As a community-focused store, we look forward to getting to know our future customers, and serving as a contributing, valued member of the local community.”
Hillcrest shoppers will enjoy a wide selection of natural meats, chicken and seafood, plus a wide selection of grab-and-go and organic salad bar options.
The company boasts a very helpful staff dedicated to providing the best in customer service.
Renovations are scheduled to begin in the coming weeks with completion slated for summer 2017.
