Transphobic signs posted by the KKK began popping up in a Kentucky neighborhood, residents fight back with their own.
The Klu Klux Klan (KKK) have inserted themselves into the anti-trans cause by trying to recruit individuals, using inflammatory propaganda posters as bait.
These printed leaflets have been seen in various neighborhood locations around Murray, Kentucky, Gay Star News is reporting.
These signs also appeared in Dothan, Alabama last week.
"It is a free speech issue," Dothan Police Capt. Will Benny said. "There is no threat put in there, no call to arms. It looks like they are asking for donations and putting out a political agenda instead of a hate-based one."
Their motivation to “boycott this abomination,” is bolstered by using Bible verses in the ads, such as this one from Deuteronomy 22:5:
“A woman shall not wear that pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: For all that do are an abomination unto the Lord Thy God.”
The leaflets also attempt to define who is and who isn’t transgender:
“If you have a PENIS – Use the MEN’S ROOM
If you have a VAGINA – Use the WOMEN’S ROOM”
The flyer also says that if someone is not sure which gender they are they should, “USE A TREE OUT IN THE BACKYARD”
In Murray, Ky., residents have begun to put up their own lawns signs to help discourage any more postings from the white supremacy group.
One-hundred signs reading, “There’s no place for hate in Murray, KY.” Have been issued to residents and more are being printed at the request of home and business owners says organizer Barbara Cobb.
