Chula Vista has a serial dog killer on the loose

CHULA VISTA, - One South Bay neighborhood is experiencing a serial dog killer who has already claimed three victims. Police are asking for the public’s help in catching the criminal(s).

The crimes took place near the 1600 block of Calle De La Floor, police say.

There seems to be no motive in the case; the dogs had never been reported to be disruptive or troublesome.

The method of death the killer is using is pesticide or some other type of poison. The suspect or suspects place the toxic materials in hot dogs and then toss them into the yard, police say.

One owner lost two dogs while another neighbor lost one to the poisoning.   

A black Labrador, golden retriever and a Maltese died.
