Former First Lady talked at the 2016 Women in the World Summit
Perhaps it is not what former First lady Laura Bush said at the 2016 Women in the World Summit, it’s what she didn’t say.
Mrs. Bush sat down with her daughters to discuss the election and stated that she would like to see our next President (he or she) to be one who will address the problems women face in Afghanistan.
Groopspeak.com says that this is a core issue to Bush, and no other candidate but one, Hillary Clinton, has even taken an interest.
Clinton visited the region four times when she served as Secretary of State.
Said the former First Lady Laura Bush to the panel:
“I want our next president — whoever he or she might be — to be somebody who is interested in women in Afghanistan and who will continue U.S. policies … that we continue to do what we’re committed to do as a country.”
“That’s who I want — or the kind of people that will do that and will pay attention to our history, and know what’s happened before and know specifically how we can continue to do the good things that we do around the world.”
The news website continues to say that if Mrs. Bush doesn’t vote for Clinton, then her only other option might be Trump, who has already said derogatory things about the Greater Middle East region and its people.
Although it can only be specualted that Bush meant Clinton, her words seemed to be chosen very carefully.
