Mayor Filner scandal: Watch livestream of news conference at 10 am

SAN DIEGO -- Mayor Bob Filner's latest scandal is all the buzz across America's Finest City, and today three civic icons will speak at a news conference at 10 am to discuss allegations of sexual harassment that have been made against the mayor.

The news conference will be broadcast live via livestream, brought to San Diegans by KNSJ Radio 89.1 FM. The event is also being broadcast live on NBC 7.

Attorney Cory Briggs, former San Diego City Councilmember Donna Frye and attorney Marc Gonzalez will meet the press at 10 am to explain why they have called for Filner to resign as mayor. All three were supporters of Filner, who left Congress to run for mayor.

Frye was the talk of the town on Wednesday after releasing a letter she sent to Filner, saying she has "received credible evidence of more than one woman being sexually harassed by you."

Since he took office, Filner has come under fire for his lavish recent trip to Paris, controversial dealings with developers that reportedly are being investigated by federal officials, his abrasive management style, clashes with the City Council and other allegations.

Just this week, Filner's fiancée who he had called the "first lady of San Diego," went public with her news that she had broken off her relationship with the mayor.
