High court could render opinions on Tuesday
WASHINGTON – The agonizing wait for the U.S. Supreme Court to weigh in on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) will continue a little longer.
Today, the high court issued rulings on several of the remaining 11 cases on their docket for this session, but continued to hold out on rendering decisions on the two high-profile marriage-equality cases.
The Supreme Court could issue rulings on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of this week, as the session is scheduled to wind down by Friday. It is possible that the justices could extend the current session into the first week of July.
San Diego Gay & Lesbian News will continue to monitor the U.S. Supreme Court for any new developments on Prop 8 or DOMA.
