SAN DIEGO – A significant majority of the readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll say they believe that it should be a crime to hide one’s HIV status from a sex partner.
Our poll question was: Should it be a crime to not tell a sex partner that you are HIV-positive?
The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 68% of readers believe that it should be a crime to not tell a sex partner that you are HIV-positive, while 32% disagree with that position.
The poll question was inspired by a decision by the Supreme Court of Canada, which ruled that it was “Not always a crime to hide HIV status to sex partners.”
The new SDGLN Reader Poll question asks readers: Have the political debates changed your vote for President?
