SAN DIEGO – City and civic officials will have a public unveiling of the Interstate 805 Gateway Project tomorrow.
The ceremony will begin at 10:30 am Friday, Oct. 12, at the corner of University and Wabash avenues at the Interstate 805 overpass.
Steve Codraro spearheaded the project and shepherding it to completion, according to North Park Main Street.
The neighborhood beautification project links City Heights and North Park. The sculpture designed by Luke English features the North Park Water Tower and the City Heights Tower and is reminder of the linked history of the two communities that are separated by the freeway.
North Park Main Street officials thanked SDGE and Councilmember Todd Gloria for the monetary contributions to pay for the project, and North Park Nursery for donating time and landscaping and the NPCA for their labor in completing the project.
