SAN DIEGO -- As a lack of parking spaces continues to be a concern for many Hillcrest residents and visitors, Councilmember Todd Gloria announced this morning that the City Council approved a community request to create seven new parking spaces on Vermont Street.
The area on Vermont Street in question currently has 12 parallel spaces, but changing the parking configuration to angled will make room for seven new spots, taking the total to 19 parking spaces, including one disabled space.
The affected area of Vermont Street is south of University Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue.
"This action will bring needed relief to residents and businesses struggling with the lack of parking in Uptown," Gloria posted on his Facebook page. "I expect to take more steps like this one in the months ahead."
