Porn star accused of dismembering his boyfriend is captured in Berlin

BERLIN, Germany – Following an international manhunt, Canadian porn star Luka Rocco Magnotta has been arrested today in Berlin in connection with the gruesome dismemberment death of his boyfriend.

Last Thursday, Interpol issued a global alert calling for the arrest of Magnotta, 29, wanted by authorities in Montreal on first-degree murder charges relating to the death of Jun Lin, 33, a Chinese university student in Canada who was involved in a relationship with Magnotta.

Canadian authorities accuse Magnotta of killing his boyfriend, filming the brutal attack, dismembering the body, and mailing the various body parts to politicians representing both the Liberal and Conservative parties in Canada.

A 10-minute “snuff film” reportedly showing the murder was posted May 25 on an online gore site, police said.

The gruesome events apparently happened between the evening of May 24 and early May 25, Montreal authorities told the media. The torso, stuffed in a suitcase, was found dumped in trash behind the suspect’s apartment, police said.

Magnotta was allegedly spotted in Paris over the weekend, but he was caught when he fled to Berlin on Monday. He is expected to appear before a judge on Tuesday.

European newspapers dubbed the porn star the “Butcher of Montreal” and the “Canadian Psycho” because of the allegations against Magnotta.
