PORTLAND, Ore. -- People came together in the city’s entertainment district Saturday night, to take a stand against recent bias attacks.
Members of Portland’s gay community and others rallied and marched to send a message that attacks on anyone for any reason are unacceptable.
“These acts of violence aren’t just against our community, they’re against everybody. It’s a human problem; violence is not OK and we as Americans shouldn’t be standing for it,” said organizer Jeff Carr, who is also one of the founders of the Oregon State Gay Pride Organization.
