EDINBURGH, Scotland -- A retired lecturer stabbed to death in his home is the third gay man killed in Edinburgh in three weeks, the Record can reveal.
Roger Gray's body was found in the hallway of his Merchiston flat by police early on Saturday.
His killing follows the violent deaths of John Carter, 44, in Leith, and a man in Pilton who can't be named for legal reasons, sparking fears that gay men are being targeted in the city.
Bruce Fraser, chief executive of charity Gay Men's Health, said: "People will be worried. Whether they are linked or not is irrelevant because the incidents create a climate of fear, given the reality is that hate crimes are a fact of life for many gay and bisexual men."
