Today, in a landmark 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court of the United States held that employment discrimination against transgender and gay people violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, giving federal employment protections to transgender and gay people.

For the second year in a row, the City of Encinitas raised a rainbow flag above their city hall on Tuesday to honor LGBTQ Pride Month. Encinitas, located in the northern coastal section of San Diego County, was the first city in the county to raise a rainbow flag over their city hall in 2019.

A peaceful, prideful protest and march for equality is being held this Saturday, June 6 starting at 10 am. Participants will gather at at the County of San Diego Administration Building at 10 am for a program and then march into Hillcrest, ending at the Hillcrest Pride Flag.

San Diegans are encouraged to come back and support the Hillcrest businesses they know and love.

As restrictions limiting which businesses can operate begin to be lifted, the Hillcrest Business Association (HBA) is encouraging San Diegans to "Get Back To Fabulous" by supporting the Hillcrest businesses they know and love. While everything isn't completely back to normal yet, Fabulous Hillcrest is ready to Get Back To Fabulous!

A virtual memorial will be held this Friday, May 8 at 10 am to honor the life of Richard "Omar" Lowry, who passed away Monday morning after a long battle with an illness. The virtual event will include the lowering of the Hillcrest Pride Flag to half staff in Lowry's honor.
