Group to focus attention on hate crimes
SAN DIEGO – United for a Hate Free San Diego will have a planning session from 3 to 5 p.m. March 4, and volunteers are invited to join the group.
Organizers are crafting plans for a news conference at 5:30 p.m. April 8 at the Hall of Justice in downtown San Diego to discuss the brutal assaults of an African-American man in Jamul and a lesbian in San Diego.
At the news conference, United for a Hate Free San Diego will provide a hate-crimes complaint and request further investigation of the two cases by federal authorities via the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Diego.
The group also is planning in May a rally and march pertaining to hate crimes.
