SAN DIEGO _ The city is celebrating the grand opening of the second phase of NTC Park today.
District 2 Councilmember Kevin Faulconer will be among the dignitaries who will speak at the 2 p.m. celebration at the park, which is in the Point Loma neighborhood.
At 46 acres, NTC Park at Liberty Station is San Diego’s second-largest waterfront park.
Liberty Station, the former site of San Diego’s Naval Training Center, has been transformed into a 361-acre retail, recreational and residential community. It was named by Money Magazine as one of the best places to retire in the U.S.
Amenities include 125 acres of parks, open space and a boat channel; 28 acres of civic, arts and culture sites; six schools; three hotels; shopping villages and restaurants.
