(HILLCREST) – The Hillcrest Farmers Market is adding yet another attraction: a Visiting Chef Series. The series will feature gourmet chefs from local restaurants who will give live cooking demonstrations, provide taste samples, and show market patrons how to "best shop local" at farmers markets.
The first visiting chef is Jeff Rossman of Terra restaurant, who will be giving a demonstration on January 24th. For a cost of $20 per person, patrons will be able to join Chef Jeff Rossman on a tour of the market, beginning at 10 a.m., as he selects the produce and ingredients for his recipe. The ticket also includes prime seating at his chef demonstration beginning at noon, a “foodie bag” with information about the Hillcrest Farmers Market, Terra Restaurant, and a Hillcrest Farmers Market apron.
The Hillcrest Farmers Market is frequently regarded as one of the best and largest of the farmers markets in San Diego. In addition to the wide array of food and retail options, the Market often hosts seasonal family friendly activities, like holiday ornament decorating and market tours.
The Hillcrest Farmers Market takes place every Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and is located at Lincoln & Normal Streets by the DMV parking lot.
