City will save nearly $500,000 a year
(SAN DIEGO) Mayor Jerry Sanders praised city staff for reaching a new deal that will save the city nearly $500,000 a year on its Microsoft software products.
The city’s new three-year contract with CompuCom Systems Inc. will reduce the city’s overall bill for Microsoft-related products from $1.99 million a year to roughly $1.51 million a year. The City Council approved the contract on Monday.
The city chose CompuCom after receiving bids from six vendors.
“Every dime of savings is critical in this national recession,” said Mayor Sanders. “I congratulate the staff in our information technology and purchasing departments for helping us save a considerable amount of money.”
