(SAN DIEGO) - Dave Roberts, Democratic candidate for the 50th Congressional District, announced yesterday that his campaign is off to a strong start since declaring his candidacy on September 3, 2009. The campaign raised $153,000 from over 300 contributors in just 27 days.
"I appreciate and am humbled by the overwhelming support our campaign has received from San Diegans who are looking for committed leadership and a dedication to tackling head on the challenges we face," said Dave Roberts. "Voters have been consistently telling us that they want a new type of candidate who is committed to finding solutions that are fiscally responsible and viable to help our community."
In just his first few weeks in the race, Roberts drew on a broad base of support, receiving contributions from Democrats, Independents and Republicans dissatisfied with the status quo.
With his years of experience as a local elected official, careers in the Air Force and the private sector, Roberts understands the economic conditions of the 50th Congressional District.
