SAN DIEGO, California -- Starting this afternoon, The San Diego LGBT Community Center will offer a series of workshops on obtaining affordable health coverage through Covered California.
With the next Open Enrollment cycle scheduled for Nov. 15, 2014-Feb. 15, 2015, The Center wants to ensure that all individuals have access to healthcare. Individuals who currently do not have health coverage or wish to change their plan are encouraged to consider their options through the Affordable Care Act by attending one of the workshops.
The Center employs staff members who are certified by Covered California to provide outreach and education services about consumer's health care options and these staff will be on hand at the workshops to provide a brief presentation and answer questions.
Workshops are scheduled for
- Wednesday, Sept. 3 – 3-4:30 pm
- Wednesday, Sept. 10 – 6-7:30 pm
- Wednesday, Sept. 17 – 10-11:30 am
- Tuesday, Sept. 23 – 6-7:30 pm
- Wednesday, Oct. 1 – 10-11:30 am
- Tuesday, Oct. 7 – 6-7:30 pm *en Español
- Wednesday, Oct. 15 – 3-4:30 pm *en Español
- Tuesday, Oct. 21 – 1-2:30 pm
- Wednesday, Oct. 29 – 6-7:30 pm

ASL interpretation services can be made available with 7 days advance notice.
