SAN DIEGO -- As part of its commitment to give back to the community, the San Diego American Flag Football League (SDAFFL) will be holding a Teddy Bear Drive during the league's games on Saturday, May 5, to benefit Rady Children's Hospital.
Teams are being asked to bring teddy bears and other stuffed animals to the fields at Doyle Recreation Center between 9 am and 2 pm. As it did during its Easter Basket competition last year, teams will participate in a competition to encourage more donations.
Teams will not only compete to see which team can collect and donate the most stuffed animals, but each team will also decorate a bear that will be judged.
Non-players who wish to participate and make a donation are welcome to do so as well. Donated teddy bears and stuffed animals should be new with tags still attached, and be small or medium sized so they can fit in a child's hospital bed.
Doyle Recreation Center is located at 8175 Regents Road in UTC.
