The community is in shock at the loss of popular personal trainer and nutritional coach Landen Jones in Pittsburgh at about 4 pm on Saturday.
The popular health and wellness guru was killed when he fell from an overpass while trying to assist a stranded driver.
According to the Associated Press, the 39-year-old was with Jason Hubert Jackson who was also killed during the fall.
Police say that Jackson's vehicle stalled in the right lane when Jones stopped to help him. The two men went to get gas, but the vehicle still would not start.
As the two men were standing outside their vehicles another car struck the back of Jones' Honda Civic.
Whether the men jumped out of the way to avoid getting hit, or were struck by the third vehicle remains under investigation.
"They were going to call AAA, and then that's when the third car hit," Trooper Bondarenka said.
Both men fell over the embankment at a height of about 30-35 feet and were struck by another vehicle below. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman and child seated in Jackson's car were unharmed.
The driver of the third vehicle has been identified as 38-year-old Joaquin Smalley, he was taken to the hospital.
The person who hit the two victims has not been identified but was also taken to the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
Landen Jones was a personal trainer and nutrition coach to the stars in Pittsburgh and New York City.
According to his Instagram account, Jones identified himself as a, "Fitness Coach (ACE, SFG, Precision Nutrition, USA Weightlifting, FMS). Aesthete. Movement Enthusiast. Culture Hound. Travel Luster. History Lover."
