This is the first time openly gay men have competed in the Winter Games.
Gus Kenworthy is going back to the Olympics with pride as he becomes one of the many out athletes headed to Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Kenworthy showed his enthusiasm via Twitter yesterday, posting, “I’M GOING BACK TO THE OLYMPICS!!”
The last time the 26-year-old took home a medal was in 2014. He didn’t come out until a year later.
He joins other openly gay Olympians, figure skater Adam Rippon and Canadian Eric Radford.
This is the first year in which the Winter Games will have openly gay males competing.
