Boston sports writer Alex Reimer, in what seemed like an impromptu conversation on WEEI’s “Kirk & Callahan” radio show, decided to tell the hosts and the world he is gay on Wednesday's program.

What resulted is a funny exchange between the writer and the radio hosts who only seemed concerned that he didn’t come out earlier in the program so they could discuss it at length.

During the last segment, Reimer responds to the talk show host's question about what people don’t know about him, “Well, I’m gay,” he says casually.

This revelation spurs the DJs into a barrage of usual questions about being gay to which Reimer answers them honestly and with a jovial attitude.

“Have you ever slept with a woman?” one asks.

“I have not. They call that a gold-star gay,” Reimer responds.

Reimer told Outsports that he’s been out of the closet in his private life for three years, but the radio segment is the first time he's made it public.

He also reveals that he is currently dating former basketball player Dan Trant’s son, and that his “type” is best compared to Justin Bieber.

The interview goes on for about 16-minutes and Reimer is not only comical, but honest as the hosts delve deeper into his personal life.
