Only two Ford outpatient programs currently exist in Southern California.
The Betty Ford Center will open an outpatient addiction treatment facility in San Diego this December.
The center is located in Del Mar Heights and will start treating patients as early as mid-December.
Janelle Wesloh, who is serving as Interim Executive Director said in a press release, “This expansion will enable us to provide people with the world-class care they need, right where they are, and when they need it.”
This, the seventeenth site in the US is a part of the non-profit Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
Wesloh says the San Diego location will offer a “full continuum” of outpatient services including substance abuse and co-concurring mental health services. These programs will also be available to teens and young adults.
“This beautiful new location overlooking the Torrey Pines area is a wonderful addition to the Foundation’s family of services,” added Wesloh, a 23-year veteran of the organization. “We will be able to help even more people access the care they need – close to home and with convenient scheduling and a strong network of community resources.”
The flagship residential facility remains in Rancho Mirage, but the opening of this new facility brings the total number of outpatient programs to two in Southern California.
The new facility will accept insurance options with the help of on-site financial case managers.
“Our new San Diego facility will offer our state-of-the-art treatment and resources for individuals and families, and will serve as a neighborhood hub for recovery support and community education,” said Wesloh.
She adds that the chronic disease of addiction demands multiple levels of care and accessible treatment, and the residential facility in Rancho Mirage remains the preferred option for those that need intensive care, however, she adds, “there is a pressing demand for additional treatment options that encompass the full continuum of care. We are excited to offer proven, high-quality treatment services to the residents of San Diego and surrounding communities.
A public open house will be held on Wednesday, January 11.
The new facility is located at: 11720 El Camino Real, Suite 200, San Diego, 92130
