GayCities launches campaign to support LGBTQ nightlife venues

Across the nation, a number of LGBTQ venues are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing and local health guidelines have forced many of these spaces to either remain closed or significantly limit their capacity.

In an effort to support some of these venues, GayCities and GoFundMe have teamed up to raise funds through their #SaveQueerVenues program.

With the lifting of the State of California's "Stay at Home Order" that went into effect in early December 2020, a number of LGBT nightlife venues have re-opened with modificiations, providing space for the community to get out of the house and eat and drink.

Two of the largest LGBT bars, Rich's and Flicks, are on the same block and both have announced plans to re-open this weekend.

Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage, a popular restaurant and bar known for its nightly live entertainment, announced today that it would not be re-opening. The venue closed in March when bars and restaurants were forced to shutdown indoor service due to to the COVID-19 pandemic, briefly re-opened in June when restrictions were loosened, and closed again in July.
