One thing Hillcrest is known for is its wonderful restaurants. There’s so much variety. While you can’t currently dine in like you used to, you can still order out from dozens of locations in Hillcrest.
Hillcrest is open for business! Even in these uncertain times of social distancing, restrictions on gathering, and many non-essential businesses being closed, Hillcrest’s popular dining scene is still available for take-out and delivery!
In an effort to support the businesses of Hillcrest, the Hillcrest Business Association, Uptown Community Parking District, and Johnathan Hale/Hale Media are producing a series of videos that will highlight businesses in the neighborhood that are still open to serve the community. The videos feature longtime Hillcrester and neighborhood activist Benny Cartwright, who, in the videos, will safely visit numerous open businesses to show viewers how they can still support their favorite neighborhood establishments during these days when many are struggling.
The first video focuses on some of Hillcrest’s restaurants and dining establishments that are still open providing take-out and delivery, including Crest Cafe, Babycakes, Bread & Cie, Breakfast Bitch, Cali O Burgers, and La Fuente. Vom Fass in the HUB Hillcrest is also featured as a spot to not only find a great selection of cooking oils, but also wine, beer, and spirits. Many of Hillcrest’s dining establishments are also taking advantage of relaxed ABC regulations during these times and are offering bottled and pre-mixed alcoholic beverages for pickup.
Finally, the Uptown Community Parking District has placed colorful signs in front of establishments that have "curbside pickup" service available so that those who wish to pick up their orders from the safety of their vehicles have designated spaces to pull up and do so.
Videos will air every Tuesday starting today, for five weeks.
