The accents may be different, but the game is the same.
The United States doesn't always get to watch Britsh shows, and a lot of fans of RuPaul's Drag Race were worried about where they could view the U.K. version of the series. Those concerns were relieved today as Logo announced the show will be skipping over the pond and landing at its home network.
The format is the same, Mama Ru is still on the judging panel with BFF Michelle Visage at his side.
And let's not forget the queens; ten in all who follow the same rubric of charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.
They include Baga Chipz (London), Blu Hydrangea (Belfast), Cheryl Hole (Essex), Crystal (London), Divina De Campo (West Yorkshire), Gothy Kendoll (Leicester), Scardey Kat (Wiltshire), Sum Ting Wong (Birmingham), The Vivienne (Liverpool), and Vinegar Strokes (London).
The ladies will be under the scrutinizing eye of celebrity guest judges as well. English A-listers populating the panel include Graham Norton, Alan Carr, Andrew Garfield, Cheryl Cole, to name a few.
“I am beyond excited to celebrate the massive charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the Queen’s queens,” Ru stated when the show was first announced. “And before anyone asks, yes, we would be thrilled to have Meghan Markle join us, as we are already preparing a ’Royal-Mother-to-Be’ runway challenge.”
The Emmy's looked kindly on the reality show this year, awarding it four statues including Outstanding Competition Program and Outstanding Host for Reality/Competition Program.
RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K. premieres Friday, October 11, at 8 pm ET on Logo.
