Background actors can still check back in case there are cancellations.
The popular drama series "Pose" is moving forward with production for a second season, and already the casting call for extras has reached its limit.
The Ryan Murphy-created drama and award winner is one of 2018's most critically acclaimed television shows, winning an American Film Institute Award and nominated for two Golden Globes.
It's probably this reputation that accelerated the recent casting call to capacity in New York after the announcement for extras went public on Monday.
Production called for "Union & Non-Union to portray African American and Latinx 18 to 35-year-old Transgender and LGBTQ House Ball Attendees to work as paid extras on season 2 of Pose."
The show takes place in the late eighties and follows many aspects of New York's artistic life including the African American and Latino ball houses.
Although the open call is currently full, Central Casting says to keep checking back because there may be cancellations.
The casting call is on February 16.
"Pose" airs on the FX Network.
