Jagged Little Pill is going to make a run on Broadway this fall.

Just over two decades ago, Canadians gave the world one of their brightest and most talented upcoming pop singers: Alanis Morissette.

Her album Jagged Little Pill was just rebellious enough to embolden teens and twenty-somethings while profound enough for parents to steal their copies.

Diablo Cody thought the track listing was solid enough to make a musical so she wrote one and it just ended a successful 10-week run at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The musical utilizes songs from Jagged Little Pill along with other Morissette songs into a narrative which involves a rocky relationship between Mary Jane Healy, her daughter Frankie and son Nick.

Frankie is also questioning her sexuality while Nick is dealing with rape allegations against his best friend involving one of Frankie's friends.

Tony-winner Diane Paulus (Pippin) is directing, with Eva Price producing.

The show will undergo some changes for its appearance on the Great White Way, something Price says only enhances the storyline.

“You can always keep improving, and the changes we have made are many, many little ones that add up to a more streamlined, layered, and deeper show,” Price said to the Times. “The world has continued to change, and that has affected the writing and the direction.”

Premiere dates and venue have not yet been set.
