He says he has nothing more to lose.
Louis C.K was once a well sought after comedian in Hollywood. He's written for Conan O'Brien, David Letterman, and even Saturday Night Live. But a recently leaked audio recording of one his sets shows he may be taking his act in a whole new direction, namely mocking trans people and mass shooting survivors.
In the audio clip from the Governor’s Comedy Club in Levittown, New York, C.K. lays into gender non-conforming people very aggressively.
“They’re like royalty!” he said. “They tell you what to call them. ‘You should address me as they/them, because I identify as gender-neutral.’ Oh, OK. You should address me as ‘there’ because I identify as a location. And the location is your mother’s c**t.”
That bit leads into another one about the Parkland shooting survivors and their activism against gun violence.
“They testify in front of Congress, these kids? What are they doing?” he quips. “You’re young, you should be crazy, you should be unhinged, not in a suit… you’re not interesting. Because you went to a high school where kids got shot? Why does that mean I have to listen to you?… You didn’t get shot, you pushed some fat kid in the way, and now I’ve gotta listen to you talking?”
Back in 2017 C.K. was accused of lewd behavior by five women, an accusation he later confirmed.
His last film I Love you, Daddy, was pulled from distribution after the accusations, and its stars refused to promote it. Netflix canceled his upcoming stand up special and FX, HBO and TBS severed ties with the 51-year-old as well.
The comedian says he has nothing more to lose, “What are you going to do, take away my birthday? My life is over. I don’t give a sh*t."
