It features Parton's original song "Girl in the Movies."
The first trailer for the Netflix Original move called "Dumplin'" has dropped and it looks to be the perfect mesh of Dolly Parton, drag and inspiration.
Starring Jennifer Aniston, the film follows Willow Dean Dixon, or "Dumplin" as her mother calls her. She is a plus size waitress from a small town in Texas town who detests beauty pageants and everything they say about beauty. Her mother, Rosie (Aniston) happens to be a former pageant queen herself who is training girls for an upcoming show.
Dumplin' sees an opportunity to enter the pageant out of protest but that becomes a bigger movement as others who don't fit the pageant mold follow in her footsteps.
Thanks to a terrific soundtrack by Dolly Parton and a cameo by Ginger Minj this looks like it's going to be a great comedy about empowerment and self-acceptance.
Dumplin' is based on the book by Julie Murphy and is directed by Anne Fletcher.
It hits Netflix and select theaters on Dec. 7.
