The fast food chain says the sandwich really will introduce nightmares.
With Halloween just around the corner, many companies are introducing scary items to their product lines, but none can make the unique claim Burger King does.
Next week, the fast-food chain will introduce their latest menu addition called the Nightmare King and it promises to give you nightmares, literally.
The chilling cheeseburger is made with a quarter pound of beef, chicken filet, American cheese, bacon, mayonnaise, and onion all served on a green sesame-seed bun.
The food company isn't just calling the offering a "nightmare," but says they market tested it on 100 people over 10 nights which resulted in an increase in actual nightmares.
“According to previous studies, 4 percent of the population experiences nightmares in any given night,” said Dr. Jose Gabriel Medina, the study’s lead doctor, in a statement. “But, after eating the Nightmare King, the data obtained from the study indicated that the incidence of nightmares increased by 3.5 times.”
Burger King loves Halloween, the last time they celebrated the holiday was in 2015 with their Halloween Whopper made with a pitch black bun.
The Nightmare King will be added to menus on Oct. 22 and be available through Nov. 1.
