Troye Sivan has become a rising star in the world of pop radio. His music has spoken to the LGBT community and in many ways paved the way for a new generation, one that is freer to express themselves however they want.

His latest album "Bloom" is scheduled to be released August 31 and he will be in San Diego October 25 for The Bloom Tour. It's already a hot ticket at the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU.

Another community pop icon Kim Petra will join Sivan on tour, she was also one of the headliners at the San Diego Pride Music Festival this year.

Although he is mostly known for his hit songs, Sivan is also an actor who played the younger version of the titular hero in 2009's "Wolverine." His latest venture in front of the camera is "Boy Erased" which is currently in post-production.

But the 23-year-old is now most recognized for his chart-topping music and most recently his duet "Dance to This" with Ariana Grande.

Before that tune, there was "Bloom" a song which pushed the envelope, as many great and memorable songs do, reaching number one in New Zealand. The music video became a cult hit in America with almost 11 million views on YouTube to date. The smooth and down tempo song ambiguously refers to a gay man losing his virginity.

It's this type of inclusion that has fueled his popularity and made him an emerging figure of Pride.

Fans of his music understand his rainbow twist on pop and that doesn't bother him at all, in fact, it's something that he embraces as a gay artist.

“There’s hunger for that conversation. So I’ve always been totally fine to talk about and embrace that,” he told EW recently. “Am I excited for the day where [a headline is] just, ‘Troye Sivan puts out a song’? Sure, yeah, that’s exciting. As I’m excited for the day when a trans woman of color can walk down the street and not fear for her life, you know what I mean? We’ve got so much work to do as a community, and the only way is forward.”

Troye Sivan will be in San Diego for "The Bloom Tour" with special guests Kim Petras and Carlie Hanson at the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU on Thursday, October 25.
