One of the greatest singers of our time, Whitney Houston, left millions of fans wondering how such a successful celebrity could have fallen so far.
The latest documentary simply titled “Whitney” will explore the singer’s life through the lens of personal video cameras from her estate.
The documentary directed by Kevin Macdonald (Marley, The King of Scotland) goes much deeper than any other story of the beloved singer’s life and death.
The film will include previously unreleased songs and never-before-seen recordings of live performances.
In this teaser set to the tune of her “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” we get a glimpse behind the scenes of a troubled star dealing with the pressures of fame and doing it all with her signature smile until it becomes too much.
"People think it’s so damn easy, but it’s not," says Houston in the teaser.
Whitney pricked up everyone’s ears when she burst onto the pop scene in the mid-eighties. Her incomparable voice earned her many industry awards including six Grammy’s.
She was also a successful actress with movies such as The Bodyguard, Waiting to Exhale and The Preacher's Wife.
The legendary entertainer died in February 2012 amid some controversy.
Whitney will be released in UK theaters, July 2018.
No word yet on when this film will be released in the US.
