Hilton just wants to make his son's life "easier" he says.
The statement came from his March 27 podcast with co-host Chris Booker who thought Hilton was joking at first.
“No, I’m actually being serious” Hilton responded after Booker accused him of just being silly.
“I think dance class could make your kid gay.” Hilton re-iterated.
Booker scoffed, then told him, “you can’t make anyone gay.”
“I think dance class would help,” Hilton quipped.
Hilton felt the need to explain his sentiment in a YouTube video he posted the following Sunday. In the video, he doubles down on his belief. “Fifty-percent or more of little boys who take dance class end up being gay,” he said.
“I don’t think that’s a homophobic thing to say,” Hilton added. “Just like I don’t think it’s a homophobic thing to say that a disproportionate amount of male singer/actor/dancers on Broadway are gay. There are more gay men drawn to that profession. That’s not homophobic, that’s just a fact.”
Hilton claims that he is only looking out for his child and trying to be a good dad, wanting to make his son's life "easier."
“Ultimately, every decision I make for my son is what I think is best for his future. I don’t want to do anything that could potentially hurt him,” he said. “If he really wanted to take dance class, which he hasn’t expressed that, if he begged and pleaded and I saw that that would make him truly happy, I would do that."
Ultimately, Hilton says he will support his kids no matter what.
