This is San Diego's first chef-to-table concept.
The culinary diversity led by world-class chefs continues to grow in Hillcrest as the long-awaited chef-to-table, Italian eatery Maestoso opened on Monday, March 5, at The Hub. The restaurant has taken over the former Napizza location.
This is the first chef-to-table restaurant in San Diego and owner Chef Marco Maestoso is a world-renowned culinary talent.
Maestoso, a graduate of the prestigious Gambero Rosso culinary school in Rome has worked with many Michelin starred chefs.
Four years ago in The Big Apple, he became famous for a series of successful pop-up dinners served in his own apartment.
“I’m excited to open this new restaurant, Maestoso, in such a vibrant area of San Diego, and am looking forward to being able to share our Roman roots with the locals while using my culinary creativity to put San Diego on every foodie’s map,” said Marco back in December.
Maestoso is co-founded by partner Dalila Ercolani and friends Christopher and Richard Antinucci and Giulia Colmignoli who are responsible for the Napizza chains.
“I am happy to be working with such talented individuals like Dalila and Marco and am sure that they will bring a breath of fresh air to the culinary scene here in San Diego,” said Christopher Antinucci. “I’ve always wanted to increase the representation of Roman food in San Diego as I feel like so far it hasn’t been represented to its full potential on the full service side. I think Maestoso will do just that.”
Maestoso is located at 1040 University Ave Ste. B 101 San Diego.
The new restaurant will be open daily at 4:30 p.m.
