Happy Thanksgiving! Here's what to do in the community this week.
It's that time of year again for food, family, and fun. Our social columnist Jinx Mirage is going to pilgrim through the neighborhood this week with this special edition of Out & About.
"Gobble, Gobble Hillcrest, this weekend has all the parties for when you need to escape your family!" he says. "So sit back grab a knife and fork and let's dig into this week's Out & About."
The night before Thanksgiving around the neighborhood is not quiet. In fact, Jinx says it's just the opposite. "This is one of the busiest nights of the year for nightclubs."
First up, there's Wobble Before You Gobble at Uptown Tavern. Jinx says this one is going to be a lot of fun with $5 mules and a live DJ. It all starts at 9 pm.
People can also make their way over to Flicks for Thanksgiving Eve Britney Night at Flicks. "It's going to be a traditional Welfare Wednesday, but to spice it up they are going to play all the Britney songs you know we gays are going to scream and dance and do all the choreography to."
Jinx is also excited about the 11th Annual Gobble Gobble Party at Rich's because "it's the return of DJ John Joseph who has been out of town for the past few weeks on a European tour."
If you don't want to do all the cooking or deal with the kitchen clean up, there is always Thanksgiving Day at Crest Cafe. This huge three-course meal includes among other delicious sides, Chili Citrus glazed boneless breast of turkey with chipotle gravy, sausage stuffing with caramelized leeks and sage, scalloped potatoes, homemade biscuits and butter with either pecan or pumpkin cheesecake. For a complete list of items click HERE. "This menu looks pretty stacked with all the fixin's," says Jinx.
Come out and share some food with your loved ones at Friendsgiving at Uptown Tavern They will be open from 5 pm to 11:45 pm.
29th Annual Scott Carlson Thanksgiving Community Dinner at the LGBT Community Center. This event is open to anyone who would like to feast among friends."This is The San Diego LGBT Community Center opening its doors everyone on Thanksgiving Day," says Jinx.
Don't miss this week's SDPIX Presents Top of the Bay at the Porto Vista Hotel, "As always, It's great for networking in the LGBT community," Jinx adds, "it's the premier hotel rooftop party in San Diego. It's a great place to hang out and meet some people."
It's a very special night of Divas at Rich's on Friday says Jinx. "These are the drag legends coming back to turn out for the children."
Taking the stage are Norma Braxton, Brittany Morgan, Mama Cass ( Alex Mercado Arce) Lala Too, and Coco Chanel ( Jelecia King). All hosted by Kickxy Vixen-Styles.
To round out your Thanksgiving Weekend get ready as SDPIX Presents Euphoria at Rich's. Says Jinx about this party, "I am super-excited, Euphoria is back at Rich’s honey. Our dancing diva Luciana is back in town. Keep watching SDPIX Snapchat for a special surprise from Luciana. I am also excited that the opening DJ is DJ Nytrix. I got to see him before when he was with Neon Hitch. He’s an absolutely amazing DJ; he’s a young guy who definitely has a pulse for what people want to hear."
Euphoria is going into after hours until 4 am.

Re-cap of Last Week's Events
Jinx attended the fourth anniversary of Overdrive last weekend and he says it was an awesome experience.
"Absolutely amazing sets from DJ dirty KURTY and DJ Hector Fonseca. I mean, DJ dirty Kurty is always a crowd pleaser. At one point she was playing something that sounded like Arabian House Music to me. I mean I've never heard Arabian House Music, but I was waiting for Aladdin and Jasmine to fly over the dance floor on a magic carpet and Genie to pop out somewhere honey. It was absolutely fabulous!
And then Hector, oh my god! That man knows how to build a crowd. It was like he was building a home in front of us and that home was music. Each song was a brick, each transition was the concrete and built layer upon layer upon layer--DJ Hector Fonseca is a global superstar and it was certainly amazing to hear him. I am definitely going to be making my way back to Overdrive more often if the music stays like that. Kudos to the Overdrive team, it was an amazing night!"
Jinx's Final Word
"I hope you guys enjoyed this weeks Out & About with Jinx Mirage.
Make sure to let your loves know how thankful you are for them. I’m Jinx Mirage and I’m thankful for all of you.
Happy Thanksgiving San Diego!"
