Some are wondering how that type of language got passed quality control.
Editor's note: the following story contains offensive language.
Walmart is under fire for selling something on their online store which contains a racial slur, and the internet is quick to call them on it.
The giant retailer has an extensive online catalog including a vast hair care and beauty section. The problem lies in a description of a wig cap color called “[N-word] Brown.”
The third party seller of the product, Jagazi Natural, describes the accessory as a “Full Cap Weaving Net Durable Stretchy Weaving Net...Wig Cap.”
Teen Vogue reports the product is manufactured by Pixnor, but questions how it got past website editors.
After receiving multiple complaints the big box corporation issued the following statement:
“We are very sorry and appalled that this third party seller listed their item with this description on our online marketplace. It is a clear violation of our policy and has been removed, and we are investigating the seller to determine how this could have happened.”
The product details have now been changed to “brown.”
