While the gay porn industry isn’t one that stands on ceremony, it has appropriated an Australian indigenous ceremonial instrument and used it as a sex toy, causing a social media backlash from people who say they crossed a line.

The adult male site Men.com is no stranger to creating hype over porn; doing parodies of Star Wars, Tarzan and yes, even Pokemon.

But this latest stunt seems to have turned people off rather than on, and social media users are letting the studio know exactly what they think.

According to UK LGBT news site Gay Star News, the scene in question happens after a roommate, fresh from the land down under starts using the didgeridoo as it was intended: as a musical instrument.

However, the other guy is bothered by the noise after being woken up and proceeds to anally penetrate the owner with the object.

We haven't watched the scene so we aren't sure what the set-up is. But graphic photo previews confirm the models are using it as a makeshift sex toy.

The didgeridoo has been used by the indigenous people of northern Australia for the past 1,500 years it is estimated.

One response to the article came from Ashley Bell from Sydney Australia:

“The didgeridoo is used in Aboriginal communities to announce the birth of a new born baby, to summon the spirit ancestors of Aboriginal elders during sacred ceremonies; and is also used as an instrument to scare evil spirits. To use the didgeridoo as a sex toy is extremely offensive.”

The site NSFW str8upgayporn offered a scene from the movie to which responders also took offense.

Zealot commented: "Of course....leave it to straight-run-owned porn company to take a traditional, culturally significant item like a didgeridoo and use it in a rather ridiculous and insensitive manner. The indigenous tribespeople of Australia are poor, marginalized, discriminated against and generally treated with no respect or deference-- so why not just make that all the more noteworthy by using an aboriginal ceremonial item up a gay man's a** as a dildo? My tolerance for this company's practices is at an end."

Marcus Collack said : "This is just wrong on about 6 different levels, and two adjacent sublevels...I can't, I just can't."
