RuPaul and World of Wonder have shown support of the concept.
The RuPaul’s Lego Brick Race campaign submitted by one Australian enthusiast is getting closer to becoming a reality.
Mark Fitzpatrick submitted his idea for the drag show Lego set in the toy company's user submitted "Ideas" campaign earlier this year.
His concept gained momentum as celebrities including RuPaul herself took to social media in support of the project.
Fitzpatrick says there were many inspirations behind his Lego house of Ru, “But mostly, I stuck at creating RuPaul’s Brick Race because it was fun! At its core, the subject material this set is based on is whimsical, colourful and full of life and I think these are qualities that marry well with the medium of LEGO.”
Recently supporters weighed in on what they thought should be included in the set which already is composed of a colorful backstage Workroom and Main Stage.
Voters wanted to see Michelle Visage added to the cast of minifigs which currently include, RuPaul, Jinkx Monsoon as Little Edie, Bianca Del Rio as Judge Judy, Katya Zamolodchikova as Björk, Alyssa Edwards as Katy Perry and Milk as Julia Child.
So far Fitzpatrick’s proposal has been seen over 92k times and has almost advanced to the next level; he needs 81 more votes to extend his campaign another six months.
Once it reaches 10k, Lego will officially take a look at the project to determine if it should be manufactured.
