Southwest Airlines will start making non-stop flights to Los Cabos in April reports The San Diego Union Tribune.

The flight will make the trip only once a day, joining Alaska and Spirit Airlines to the tropical destination. Spirit flights are seasonal.

Southwest has steadily been adding other flights out of San Diego recently, bringing the total amount of service from Lindbergh Field to 31.

“This month we’ll celebrate our 35-year anniversary with San Diego. It’s a milestone for service with us, and because we’re really striving to be your town’s carrier, the first one you go to when you fly, we want to offer a breadth of service for San Diego,” said Leah Koontz, vice president controller of Southwest Airlines.

The company is not releasing the schedule for its flights to Los Cabos until some time today when booking can officially begin. However the Airline giant says that flights will head out mid-morning and return mid-afternoon.

Although the company says there will be introductory specials, they won’t comment on the exact amount of savings.

They did say they will have Southwest representatives stationed in undisclosed locations around San Diego between 10 am and 1 pm on Wednesday handing out 2 million Rapid Rewards points and gift cards.
