Nikki Boudreau works hard to represent her art in a business dominated by men.
Drag entertainment seems to be dominated by men, so when we hear about a drag king working hard in the business it is always a pleasant surprise.
Take Nikki Boudreau for example who transforms herself into various male artists to near perfection.
The 28-year-old seems to have an affinity for the recently passed music legend David Bowie.
Nikki honors the musician by re-creating his many looks throughout the decades, from Ziggy Stardust to the Goblin King from “Labyrinth.”
Going by her stage name Jean Genie, the Bay Area native now lives in Central California and takes part in various all-female drag shows throughout the Golden State.
A recent documentary project called “The Making of a King” was successfully crowdfunded to explore the often ignored female drag subculture in Los Angeles.
You can keep up with Nikki on her Instagram page or if you’re in Northern California on Feb. 24, you can see her live at The Oasis San Francisco.
