The unexpected passing of prolific author and Hollywood icon Carrie Fisher has many celebrities worldwide paying tribute to the Princess of the Galaxy.

San Diego’s own star Chad Michaels is deeply saddened by the loss of his childhood icon and recalls a few special times with her.

In a Facebook post, the ultimate Cher impersonator says that he met Fisher two times, once when he performed at Elton John’s London birthday party in 1999, and another, more recently at Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con in 2014.

Chad remembers their humorous interaction as both made reference to the other’s work.

“I said ‘I always wanted to be Princes Leia,’” Chad writes, “and she said ‘well I always wanted to be Cher so...’”

The illusionist posted a picture of their meeting, saying Fisher “glitter bombed” his forehead while he was in full Cher makeup.

“She introduced me to fierce and strong and gorgeous and adventure. I will always carry that spirit in my heart. May the Force Be with you General Leia. You are loved.”

Fisher was taken to the hospital immediatly following a flight from London last Friday. She had suffered a heart attack on the plane, and reports said she was stable and comfortable throughout the weekend.

However, word came from her daughter early Monday that the icon had passed away. She was 60-years-old.

"The child in me will always cherish my Princess and the woman who made her real," Chad told San Diego Gay and Lesbian News. "May the Force be with you General Leia until we meet again."
