Motor Trend magazine, the leading publication for what’s popular in the automotive industry has named the Chevrolet Bolt EV as their Car of the Year. And Courtesy Chevrolet San Diego will have this highly-anticipated new car available in mid-December.

The Car of the Year award is given to cars based on several criteria: design, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety, value, and performance of intended function.

Ed Loh, Motor Trend’s Editor-in-Chief said, “The Bolt EV is certainly a game changing vehicle and we look forward to seeing whether we’ll be recognizing another Chevrolet next year in our annual awards.”

This is also a big year for another Chevy Brand. Camero celebrates its 50th anniversary, and Courtesy Chevrolet San Diego has a special display in their showroom commemorating this event.

The Camero was recognized as Motor Trend’s Car of the Year 2016.

President of GM North America and Global Chevrolet, Alan Batey, says Chevy is the fastest growing retail brand in the industry, thanks to ground breaking products like the Bolt EV.

“Being recognized once again as Motor Trend Car of the Year is a great honor for the entire Chevrolet team,” said Batey.

The Bolt EV has an EPA-estimated range of 238 miles, and when charged regularly owners can expect the Bolt EV to go beyond their average daily driving needs

With an affordable suggested retail price of just $37,495, and stylish design, it’s easy to understand why Motor Trend would award them Car of the Year.

In addition, depending on individual tax situations, Bolt EV buyers may receive an available federal tax credit of up to $7,500.

Standard features include electronic precision shift, Regen on Demand™ steering wheel paddle and 10.2-inch-diagonal color touch screen.

The top-trim Premier model adds leather-appointed seats, front and rear heated seats, Surround Vision, Rear Camera Mirror and more.

“Chevrolet is on a roll with new and compelling vehicles that have reset the bar for trucks in 2015, trucks and sports cars in 2016, and for 2017, electric cars,” Loh adds.
