The reality show star and Independent film actress died on Sunday surrounded by family.
Transgender actress and reality star Alexis Arquette died Sunday morning with friends and family at her side, said brother Richmond on Sunday. She was 47.
Alexis, born Robert Arquette, is perhaps best known for her role in the 1998 film “The Wedding Singer,” and reality series “The Surreal Life.”
She was also the subject of the documentary “Alexis Arquette: She’s My Brother,” in which she documented her transition.
The star has many famous relatives including Patricia Arquette, Rosanna Arquette and “Scream” star David Arquette.
"Our brother Robert, who became our brother Alexis, who became our sister Alexis, who became our brother Alexis, passed this morning September 11, at 12:32 am," said her brother Richmond on Facebook. "He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, one of his nieces and several other loved ones. We were playing music for him and he passed during David Bowie's Starman. As per his wishes, we cheered at the moment that he transitioned to another dimension."
